An anonymous survey at an integrated perinatal addiction clinic examined whether pregnant and postpartum patients with substance use disorder would consider participating in a clinical trial of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Of 126 respondents, 61 (48.4%) expressed moderate or strong interest. Participants already receiving substance use treatment had higher adjusted odds of interest in a TMS trial. These findings suggest research participation may be acceptable to some patients, but the survey did not test TMS effectiveness or establish its safety for substance use disorder during pregnancy.
